Winning Trainer: Peter Snowden (Assistant trainer Aaron Lau speaking)
On the horse: "He's been a revelation the last couple of preparations. We saw what he did down in Melbourne in the Aurie's Star and up at the Magic Millions, but he's an absolute revelation over the last couple of preparations."
"When he's on song, he's got a lethal turn-of-foot and Tom Sherry has great confidence in him. He rides in at home as well and he knows when he's on. Especially today, it looked great on paper, so much speed in the race and it was nice to see that turn-of-foot."
On what's next: "We'll have a good think. The races only get tougher from here. He's probably a few lengths behind those top liners, but if we set him for the right races, he'll certainly make his presence felt."
Winning Jockey: Tom Sherry
On the horse: "The horse has been flying. He obviously gave me a great day out in Queensland last month. His trackwork has been great. He's had a tick-over trial, he's been really fresh at home. We had the right run in the race today, but he quickened extremely well and I was a bit worried because I hit the front a long way out. But credit to the horse, and Peter (Snowden) and the team, the horse is going really well."
On riding a winner on a big day: "This is what it's all about, isn't it? He had 54kg today, so he tested me a bit this morning. So I was glad that I worked out."
Beaten Jockeys:
Chad Schofield (Coal Crusher): "He ran very well. Sat one out, one back. Travelled great. The three in front of me stopped. I had nowhere to go. Improvement to come."
James McDonald (Militarize): "He was superb back inside there. Found the line nicely."
Regan Bayliss (The Instructor): No comment
Angela Jones (Zarastro): "A good effort. Probably doesn't love the soft track. Had to do a bit of work from the gate. Wasn't a bad run."
Tyler Schiller (Willaidow): "I thought he did an OK job. Just couldn't get across early. Had to let the pace go and got caught out on a limb. Was tough and probably better up in trip where he can get control."
Tommy Berry (Media World): "A bit disappointing today. Maybe a bit of headgear on him. He is a colt and just needs to focus a bit more."
Dylan Gibbons (El Castello): "He didn't have a go at all today."
Tim Clark (Axius): "He ran really well. Settled well off that speed. Just had some bullockling into the clear at the top of the straight and held up his momentum. Found the line well when clear."
Zac Lloyd (Enriched): "Good to see him bounce back. The blinkers have worked well for him. Nice run."
Andrew Adkins (Cool Jakey): "Terrific run. He has come back off a nice trial and little break. Will improve again off that."
Craig Williams (Portland): "The owners and Matt Smith have been really patient with him for his first run for nearly two years. Very pleasing performance."
