Winning Trainer: Chris Waller

On Joliestar: "She is a mature horse now. Simple as that. Last year she needed to settle and relax and do the little things right. She does that now. James put her into a beautiful position. Tactically that was great. It was a sprint home. Tommy just about pinched the race. James didn't go around them. He just stuck to the basics and rode her like a jockey should."

Confident to run the leader down: "Not really. Did look like he had a march and you knew she had to dig deep. She had a test and she passed the test."

On the future: "See what James says. I'd say Canterbury Stakes, 1300m, here at Randwick in three weeks time."

On Angel Capital: "Just a little bit fresh. There wasn't enough speed and intensity for him so we'll stick to our plan with him in the Newmarket."

On Lady Shenandoah: "Was great."

Winning Jockey: James McDonald

On having to chase: "He booted and had us all chasing a fair way from home but my mare is a dual Group 1 winner and probably counting."

On the run: "She was always going to be surging and then it was always a matter of getting there in time."

On her performance: "She always does, she takes a little bit to build through, hence why hustle and bustle sort of races can be the undoing of her. But when she gets the right setup like that, you'd be pushing it to find a horse who could beat her in this country."

Beaten Jockeys:

Zac Lloyd (Angel Capital): "The 1%ers didn't go our way today. Obviously brought out of the gates is never good for a horse. Mediocre tempo, got squeezed out of the gates. He'll live to fight another day."

Chad Schofield (Coal Crusher): "Jumped fast but we weren't able to muster the speed to lead. He was brave against top notch horses."

Nash Rawiller (Lady Shenandoah): "She was lovely. It was a bit of a sprint home from the 500m which concerned me slightly. I let her top the rise and went out after them. I thought her last 100m was outstanding."

Tommy Berry (Caballus): "Peak performance obviously against that quality field today. Winner was too good for us."

Winona Costin (Who But Roo): "Great run for him."
