Job to be Done at Flemington
Snitzel gelding heading in the right direction for Finals Day assignment.
Stepping up from winning a maiden race on debut and then following up to win again is hard task for most horses, but for Job Done, Michael Kent Jnr thinks he has the ability do it on Flemington Finals Day.
Job Done won at Seymour on June 10 and lines up in the Next Gen Sprinters Final over 1200-metres for two-year-olds well in the market at $3.10.
"He can step up but there are two to beat, in my opinion," Kent Jnr said.
"Bacash will be very hard to beat after being a big margin winner and I think Street Artist jumped out well but Job Done is a neat horse but not a big horse.
"He has a huge, big stride on him and he is definitely city class."
Job Done recorded Racing and Sports rating of 88 with upside in that 1000-metre maiden while the Lindsay Park-trained Bacash broke the maiden status with a six-length victory at Cranbourne on June 22 and rated seven pounds higher and holds favouritism at $2.50.
Job Done is a gelding by Snitzel and a half-brother to Pivot City who is also in Kent Jnr and co-trainer Mick Price's care with a record of three wins and four placings in 15 starts.
"He won very handsomely on debut," Kent Jnr added of Job Done.
"I think he will love 1200-metres and he is a very straightforward horse – point and shoot.
"The Flemington straight will suit him and when you ask for him to sprint, he does it."
Street Artist, on debut for Anthony and Sam Freedman, is rated a $5.50 chance across markets.
