Outstanding mare Fangirl, a multiple Group 1 winner of nearly $11 million prizemoney, won't get her chance to complete a hat-trick of Apollo Stakes wins next month with trainer Chris Waller revealing the mare has had a bone chip removed from her fetlock delaying her return to racing.

"She will be held back and go to the All Aged Stakes (1400m, April 18),'' Waller said. "It could be her only run for the autumn.''

Even with Fangirl's notable absence, Waller will still have a powerful entry for the Group 2 $300,000 Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick on February 14 including unbeaten Autumn Glow and the highly-rated Aeliana.

Revengeance was the first horse to qualify for the $5 million Golden Slipper at Rosehill Gardens on March 21 when he earned $580,000 for winning the Golden Gift last spring.

But the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Revengeance chipped a knee in the Golden Gift,is still convalescing and will miss the autumn.

"Revengeance is out, unfortunately, but maybe the Brisbane carnival is a possibility for him,'' Bott said.
