Injuries impact some Autumn Stars
Fangirl, a perennial big-race contender, and leading Golden Slipper hopeful Revengeance have had injury setbacks ruling both out for the majority of the Sydney autumn carnival.
"She will be held back and go to the All Aged Stakes (1400m, April 18),'' Waller said. "It could be her only run for the autumn.''
Even with Fangirl's notable absence, Waller will still have a powerful entry for the Group 2 $300,000 Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick on February 14 including unbeaten Autumn Glow and the highly-rated Aeliana.
But the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Revengeance chipped a knee in the Golden Gift,is still convalescing and will miss the autumn.
"Revengeance is out, unfortunately, but maybe the Brisbane carnival is a possibility for him,'' Bott said.
