Encouraging injury update on promising sprinter Raging Force
Trainer Peter Snowden believes Raging Force could eventually make it back to the racetrack despite suffering a serious injury to the pelvis at Royal Randwick last Saturday.
There were grave fears for Raging Force's well-being after jockey Tommy Berry pulled the young sprinter out of the race just before the home turn in the Challenge Stakes, won by Generosity.
"Fortunately, it is not a displaced fracture and it will heal in time,'' Snowden said.
"It's a relief as it could have been a lot worse. He will need time, at least five to six months to recover but there is a high chance we can get him back to the races.''
Syndicator Scott Darby of Darby Racing said the injury update for Racing Force was encouraging news after the ownership group had feared the worst.
"Raging Force is not too lame and is quite comfortable,'' Darby said.
"He is not out of danger as there can be complications but it is looking a lot better for him today. We are hoping he can make a complete recovery.''
Meanwhile, Snowden said Fireball Stakes winner Beadman has pulled up in great order and wants to set the boom Newgate Farm-owned three-year-old sprinter for the Group 1 $1 million The Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 21.
"We've always felt he was a sprinter with a lot of ability and although he's still lightly-raced, he's improving all the time.
"A high pressure race like The Galaxy would suit him because he's a big, strong colt.
"If he doesn't make The Galaxy field, we have the Darby Munro Stakes the same day and then we can push on to the Arrowfield Sprint during The Championships.''
