Racing
Eagle Farm - 20th December 2025
The Queensland summer carnival rolls on with the running of the $300,000 Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes on Saturday.
Racing in the Sunshine State continues to heat up this weekend with the running of the $300,000 Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes and two Listed contests on the undercard.
Our best of the day comes up in the feature event with us landing on Tambeloa out of the astute Kristen Buchanan yard.
This son of Tagaloa went around at cricket score odds in the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes at Randwick two back but defied expectations just missing the frame on that occasion. Has since been given a warm up for this finishing third in a Rosehill Midway and there's only one other runner in Saturday's field with Group experience (Bird Whistle placed at Group 3 level last time out).
Looks thrown into this event at the set weights and hoop Cejay Graham is striking at 20% from her past 30 rides. The $4.60 currently on offer looks to present some value.
There are two Listed races supporting the Group 3 in the form of the $200,000 Gold Edition Plate and $200,000 Lough Neagh Stakes.
Grafterburners is aiming for the hat-trick in the former and is drawn to get a cosy run in transit from the inside alley. Racing high on confidence this campaign and is another to benefit from the set weights conditions.
The Joe Pride-prepared Accredited appears to be well placed in the latter, after being right there in all three runs in harder NSW contests this preparation. This son of All Too Hard is another to benefit from the inside marble and the stable has great success when travelling their horses.
