Duramente's line continues to shine
This time it was in the form of his 3yo son Energico in the Kikuka Sho.
Christophe Lemaire was on board and won this Kikuka Sho for the third year running with Energico happy to sit for most of the race until they came up to the final bend when Lemaire gave him the "go" signal and away he went. Second horse Eri King followed a similar path but took longer to pick up going into the straight and had to settle for second two lengths behind the winner.
Excite Bio was a long-shot third and just got that verdict by a nose from Gotzsektal, the son of Bricks and Mortar.
Some of the more favoured runners may not have got the trip so we'll see how they do when they come down in distance in the future.
