Bonny mare: "We couldn't be happier and today we ticked off that all important Black Type. It was a little bit quicker second-up than I normally would run a mare, but her win at Warrnambool was a three horse race and I didn't have to travel. It was like a trial. Last night, when I brought her over, she had eaten all her feed by 6pm and I had to give her a bit of a top up of the feed she was doing that well. I was confident that she had travelled over well. The big field, the wide gate, and a couple of the fancied horses that were the speed horses in the race came out and we came out so well. I didn't expect to see her lead, but she put herself there comfortably and I think she is a well above average mare."

A total professional: "She has been from day one. She was not an expensive yearling but she always showed us she has ability. She's one of those horses that keep winning. The day she got beaten was at Geelong it was 36 degrees and she pulled up with heat stress and was only beaten 1.4 lengths, so I think that was an excuse for sure. Hopefully we can keep her winning. Whether she can take the next step from this, it's hard to know. It's great for all the connections. A few of them chartered a plane from Warrnambool to be here. At least they don't have to get the e-bike home."

Purchase where: "The Scone yearling sale. She's a nicely bred mare but she ended up at that sale. She was $60,000, so she's ended up a good buy."

Today a target: "It was sort of the radar, but I must admit, at home at Warrnambool was the first assignment and when she won and pulled up so well, we thought we were running out of Black Type options. There's one at Flemington next Saturday, but we weren't sure about the straight. Today against her own sex, was great for her."

Wind the clock forward 12 months - Sangster: "Yes. She's had a little bit of knee surgery as a young horse, so provided she's going well, that would be a good target for her."

Winning Jockey: Jordan Childs

Handle the lengthy delay: "She was pretty good. She's a pretty relaxed customer. When we were in the gates for a while, she was getting a bit worked up, but when we back out and started to walk around with the pony, she was the absolute professional. She jumps away well, puts herself on speed and an almighty kick at the end. It's good for Tom and the team to get that Black Type."

Controlled the race: "I didn'nt think I'd lead, I thought I'd be outside them, but she got there easily. I didn't want to restrain her, I let her flow and she took it up easily. She was nice and happy and she tries her guts out the whole time. I think there's bigger races in store for her."
