"Great result. Good for Bjorn and Darby Racing to get a big win on a big day.

"I'm only deputising for the stable down here today, the other guys are up in Sydney with a few runners up there, but great for Darby Racing and Bjorn to get a feature winner on a big day, they've had a lot of luck down the Flemington straight together in the past, and good to see them combine and do it again."

"I think his run the other day probably put the writing on the wall, he was very. strong in that race, and he has been down the straight before and run credibly."

"The way it's set up for him, just sitting off the speed, Tommy knows him well, gave him a beautiful ride, and it's a very good result."

Backing up next week: "Whether they have plans to run next Saturday, winning a stakes race seven days out is tempting but I'll let them (owners and trainer) have those discussions.

"Darby Racing have a fantastic record at Flemington this week. They're astute judges and they bought this horse online. He's been an incredible purchase.

"He's run down the straight before but this is his first win down the straight. He's a very talented horse on his day with a good turn-of-foot and he put the writing on the wall in the Sydney Stakes."

"I was glad I got to ride him last start. I had to use him a fair way out because we went back from a bad alley and his run peaked from about the 150 (metre mark) so I knew I had a good 300 metres in me but I was mindful not to go too early.

"He was the best horse in the race and he proved that today."

Possible split early: "When we found the back of the horse that was in the market, Star Patrol after a furlong and a half, all the stars aligned. Then he was able to take me up until we joined the course proper, and I just popped him out to give him a little bit of air."

"He got a little bit lost at the furlong going past the mounting yard, but when I pulled the stick into the right, he went into another gear and was too strong."

"No matter whatI think, all the other boys ride here every week, so I was always going to follow them, and I had to go where the speed was."

"Star Patrol was one of them, and there was one more on the other side, and it sort of depended what I was closer to, but Star Patrol was there. I had to give Mark Zahra a bit of a bump to get him out of the way."

"We were both going for the same spot, but luckily, my bloke was travelling well enough that I was able to execute that, great to get another winner for Darby and Baker. We don't team up very often, but when we do, it's usually victorious."
