Gold Coast - 10th May 2025

We're back at the Gold Coast this weekend with the running of the Group 2 Hollindale Stakes.

The Gold Coast hosts a cracking nine-race card this Saturday with the running of the Group 2 Hollindale Stakes, supported by the Group 3 Gold Coast Guineas and a stack of Listed races on the schedule.

Our best comes up in the Listed ATC Trophy in race four in the form of the very well-related Need Some Luck out of the Peter Snowden yard.

This half-brother to six-time Group 1 winner Chautauqua put the writing on the wall for this beating City Of Lights when resuming at Randwick. City Of Lights, who also hails from a blue blood family being a half-sister to superstar Winx, franked that form winning the Group 3 Hawkesbury Crown the very next start.

This son of Rubick has only missed a drum once in 11 career outings and doesn't know how to put in a poor one. Goes well for hoop Tommy Berry who has four wins and two placings from six steers and looks very well placed on the weekend.

Currently around the each-way quote and another strong showing would not shock.

Our next best lobs in the Group 3 Gold Coast Guineas where the Chris Waller-prepared Emirate resumes following some top-end performances when last in work.

This son of Extreme Choice was less than three lengths behind future stallion Broadsiding in the Group 1 Golden Rose before the spell and there's certainly no gallopers of that quality in this line-up.

Gets J Mac on board from a low draw and should give backers a sight.
