Winning Trainer: Annabel & Rob Archibald (Annabel speaking)

"I was hoping to lead and then we were going to sit outside the leader. I was a little bit worried when Ryan crossed to the fence and we ended up box seating.

"He's shown a bit more versatility today. He's had to squeeze through them and in the end it was a lovely ride from Ryan. We've had a bit of luck with him.

"Great for the owners with most of his ownership group based in Melbourne so it is good to bring him down and win in front of them.

Next: "We'll just go through the grades and there's still some wiggle room to go through the benchmark system. I think he's still quite progressive and it is nice now as I think that was his first time out to the mile-and-a-half."

Winning Jockey: Ryan Houston

Connection with stable: "We've got a good connection and they throw me some nice rides.

"I had the intention to lead but Hot Too Go was going too fast and I didn't want to sit off it.

"The second option was to get cover and to try to shut the horse off. He's a keen type of horse and we didn't panic and just waited for the opportunity. He was really tough late.

"He found the gap and took it really strongly."
