Winning Trainer: Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou (Sterling comments)

On the win: "It has been a while between drinks but she has 'prepped' up really good this preparation."

"She was a bit unlucky in a Missile (Stakes) behind Schwarz, but she just hasn't won for so long. She drew awkward today but Tommy (Sherry) pressed the button. Good effort first-up, 1400. I'm proud of the stable."

On blinkers going on: "We were probably clutching at straws. She normally wears the visors, we put the blinkers on and did a few different things with her. We worked her a bit sharper. We put her over some hurdles. She worked over the hurdles this morning just to get her thinking about things again. Completely rapt."

Has she been frustrating?: "You go back to when she ran fifth in the Epsom (Handicap) behind Ceolwulf and about another three Group One winners and she hasn't looked like going close in a race. She just forever draws bad barriers and finds plenty of luck, but it's always bad luck. Tommy took bad luck out of the equation today so very happy."

Where go now?: "I don't know because if she went no good today she was going to the breeding barn."

Winning Jockey: Tom Sherry

On riding winners: "I had good rides today but that doesn't always go to plan does it. When it does go to plan it is exciting. Enjoy today. Thankful for all the support. How good is this mare? She has obviously been out of form, goes well fresh and the application of blinkers and that sparked her."

On being ridden forward: "Obviously we drew the outside gate but I spoke to Gerald beforehand thinking if we go back, I don't think she's quite good enough to make up as many lengths to catch a horse like Miraval Rose. She began well so we made use of her. Was tough there late."

On his confidence: "Things are going good. Obviously it is just consistency. I feel like I'm riding well. Riding with plenty of confidence and helps with the support."

Beaten Jockeys:

Tommy Berry (Miss Roumbini): "Wasn't our day today."

Nash Rawiller (Miraval Rose): "She was good and honest. Same time, she struggled a little bit to get on the Sydney leg properly. For that reason when the winner got a neck on me, I felt I was still balancing up a little bit. She still kept fighting on the line."

Joao Moreira (Pounce): "She has done nothing. Very straight forward and kind. Apparently because she bounded out of the gate so well I allowed her to be closer. That probably took away her finish."

Josh Parr (Coco Jamboo): "Nice resumption. Improvement to come."

Reece Jones (Dark Glitter): "Probably a bit of a flat run. Needed a bit more tempo. She didn't get that."

Dylan Gibbons (Snow In May): "She ran her guts out. That is as good as she can go. Love how hard she tried."

Zac Lloyd (Bauhinia): "She has gone enormous. Gee her turn of foot is really good. Obviously on a slow tempo she has had to use her dash to get to the winner. Probably just flattened out the last 100m. She is a really nice filly."
