BRISBANE v MELBOURNE
Sunday 18 May @ Gabba
Not 100% sure we'll see a top drawer game but we'll see plenty of top drawer players on the park.
The Premiers and current leaders aren't firing on every cylinder but being in this position off a Flag, you'd sure take that.
The relatively low percentage either tells you scoring has not been easy for them or that they can't get away easily.
To only score 71 against North, even given any sort of conditions, is hardly inspiring. They need more and relying on the midfield isn't everything.
| Match | Brisbane | Melbourne | Ground |
| Last time they met | 11.20 [86] | 11.15 [81] | Gabba |
| Last 10 matches | 5 wins | 5 wins | |
| Notes | At least at this time of day the lights won't go out like in 2023. | ||
| Mostly close games – 4 of the last 5 were 13 points or less. | |||
They gave a really good account for three quarters against Hawthorn but then the wheels fell off. That kind of sums up where they are.
Still missing some important troops down back, it is that forward connection that hurts badly. Against Brisbane that will not come easily either. Gawn can't do it all.
Just hard to see, if it is a sunny Brisbane Winter afternoon, that the Lions won't get moving. Someone still has to score more freely for them so it might be closer than expected.
Match Selection: Brisbane by 24 points
Suggested Bets: Brisbane 1-39 @ $2.15
