Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Grafton, Seymour and Townsville.

GRAFTON: RACE 7 @ 5:30 PM

NEXT PAY RUN (6) progressive mare who handled the jump in grade with a courageous third over 1400m at Inverell in BM88 class. Has an excellent record on her home track and can bounce back from the good gate. Hard to hold out. CHANGE THE DATE (3) shuffled back from the inside gate and failed to get into the contest with an out-of-character ninth over 1590m at Ballina. Drawn out with the claim and assess on his good win at Taree. Top-three chance. UNDER THE CAP (2) peaked fourth-up with a game victory over 1400m at Deepwater. Meets some better types this time but another big run is on the cards. MONTGOMERY (10) six weeks between runs when back in trip with a fading tenth over 1183m at this track. Showed good early speed last time out and gets out to his preferred trip. Value player.
SELECTIONS: Next Pay Run should get the cash.

SEYMOUR: RACE 2 @ 1:30 PM

OCEANELLA (7) won't get many better chances than this to break through. She was sent out favourite here last start and was okay in fourth but the two runs prior when narrowly beaten read very well. This doesn't look very strong and she should go close. SO STAR (4) ran a good race on debut here behind Tarzing who has won well again since and looks very promising. So Star can improve off that and will take catching here. PRIVATEER (12) was in the market first up at Werribee and ran well for fourth. She should improve now and can measure up. RIP CURRENT (1) is a 4yo gelding by Toronado on debut for the Matt Ivill yard. He's jumped out quite well and the booking of Damian Lane for a relatively small-time trainer is interesting. Watch the betting. WHITE SPORTSCOAT (11) is a filly by Reward For Effort on debut who can run well off a jumpout win here.
SELECTIONS: Oceanella to win.

TOWNSVILLE: RACE 7 @ 5:25 PM

HEART 'N' POWER (11) is another strong winning chance for the sharp Clinton Taylor barn. Won her Maiden at Rockhampton by a space and then delivered this track/trip in a 55. Has the speed to clear the awkward gate and she is well placed to go on with the job. KOBAYASTAR (8) peaks and has been within range here her last three. Finally draws an inside barrier and Wiggins is a key jockey switch. Peaks today and can form the quinella. UNIFIES (4) is a former Victorian who will be better for his two runs back following a yard switch. Led and won his Maiden at Sale in August and that form would have him right in the finish. LET'S RIDE (12) will be much more competitive back to a sprint and keep her onside.
