BEAUMONT (NEWCASTLE): RACE 7 @ 5:50 PM
CIFONELLI (4) has needed the two runs this time in and should be ready to peak in this winnable contest. Closed late from back in the field with a handy fourth over 1000m at Orange. Kept fresh and expected to go close. DARN DEADLY (5) five-weeks between runs she she rounded them up effortlessly with a determined win over 1400m at Taree. This is no tougher and shapes as a top-three player. CHESTIME (7) holding her form and can put herself into the right position. Gripped on late with a tough third over 1250m at Taree. Sure to one thereabouts. KEN'KER (2) made it five minor placings this prep two back at Tuncurry but didn't repeat the dose most recently when sixth over 1400m at Warwick Farm. Suited here. Can feature.
SELECTIONS: Cifonelli can finish over the top of them.

DUBBO: RACE 2 @ 12:40 PM
CHICO CASINO (3) has been just behind the placegetters at both runs this prep, most recently finishing 1.7 lengths away after leading over this distance at Cowra. Cherry ripe now and from the good gate will be prominent from the outset. MY CROWN (16) found 900m too short when resuming at Gunnedah recently but he was strong late. Raced once at this trip for a win so he can progress off that last run. TWIN GIFT (14) went back to last from a wide gate then picked up nicely to pass half the field in a respectable effort over this distance at Cowra last time. Can race closer today and is not out of contention. KOBOLD (9) resumes. Opened last prep with a minor placing at Wellington. Best form comes at 1200m so she cannot be dismissed. RIVER ROGUE (6) was well held when resuming last start but will find this a more suitable assignment.
SELECTIONS: Backing Chico Casino.
