RACE 4 – 7 SILVER DRAGON
Although racing out of the handicap, he delivered an eye-catching effort in Class 3 last start, finishing strongly from the back to claim third over 1020m.
Showing marked improvement in recent runs, he looks well-placed to break through for his first Malaysian win with the drop back to Class 4 this week.
RACE 9 – 1 ALWAYS A GENTLEMAN
Once a Group 1 winner in Brazil, he struggled against Hong Kong's tougher competition, well beaten in both outings. But the story changes now that he's relocated to Malaysia. Making his first start in a Max Two Stakes, he's the highest-rated horse in the field — it's hard to believe he carries the same weight as some Class 4 and Class 5 runners. On paper, this looks like his race to lose.
RACE 10 – 11 LIM'S DREAMWALKER
He likely settled too far back last start before making a late charge to finish fifth over 1600m. Before that, he had gone close in this class, placing twice in his previous three outings.
With a more positive tactical approach, as he has shown in the past, a return to the winner's circle would not be surprising.
RACE 11 – 6 EL CHUBASCO
It was puzzling to see him entered in an Open Maiden last start, given his relatively low rating as a five-year-old, so his failure was hardly a surprise. In his penultimate outing, he flashed home late to claim second in this class despite a slow start. With a return to Class 5 this week, he should be highly competitive, provided he jumps cleanly.
