Race 2

#2 GALE SAGA is a better horse than his overall form would suggest and now he's recaptured strong form a win is imminent. With the Happy Valley 1650m and all weather assignments unsuitable earlier this preparation a return to the scene of both career wins has been the follow up plan. He actually maps well drawn out wide, so expect him to join in during the final 200m and make his claim for victory.

#7 PANDA LEGEND is a lightly raced 7yo who's unfortunately suffered multiple leg injuries throughout his stop/start career. He won a class 4 over 1400m impressively two seasons back before injury halted any continuity or momentum during future campaigns. He then found his way into class 5 at the tail end of last term and better results began to follow. A quiet trial leading in after a brief freshen up suggests he'll run well and James Orman was aboard.

#9 DRACO has been the beaten favourite at two of his past three, but in his defence suffered excuses before still being good enough to finish close up. The drop back in trip to 1400m is a better option than the mile and with blinkers going on for the first time he can be sharper into stride. He looked good winning a trial on February 21 for race day jockey Luke Ferraris so a genuine opportunity rests in waiting.

#1 THE CONCENTRATION has been the victim of multiple traffic issues and plenty of mistakes this season but it's all fallen into place during his last two starts. His recent track work at Conghua continues to display well-being but the 6lb rise at the weights is in favour of the opposition. I'm thrilled with the jockey booking and expect him to go close again, but I can't recall the last class 5 galloper who won three races on the bounce.

#11 HE WAS ME has found the line with real power at his past couple and when Tony Cruz trained runners hit there straps they often hold form. He's been a real disappointment for connections after winning a maiden in Australia by a big space therefore he's extremely well rated on this current mark. He does give away a start, which is a concern, but Andrea Atzeni has previous experience.

Race 3

#11 JUICY DRAGON did very little in his debut at Sha Tin over the 1400m earlier this season before heading to Happy Valley for another two attempts. He's since produced improvement on the all weather under jockey Vincent Ho but connections are obviously looking for a change of luck, with Andrea Atzeni now aboard. He's been slightly hindered approaching the home turn at his last two start which has cost him momentum, so I'm giving him one final crack.

#12 ONE MAN SHOW recorded solid sectional time during a narrow defeat on the all weather track two back and again at his most recent start. The former Aussie won his maiden at Scone before heading abroad and appears to have taken a liking to the all weather track. The outside barrier means he'll need to time his run to perfection but with Zac Purton remaining aboard, that's likely to unfold.

#3 BUNDLE OF CHARM hasn't been in class 4 to often in his career which highlights his overall consistency and commitment. He's twice won previously on the all weather and has the gate speed to drop in for cover of speed. It's been almost 2 years since he's been good enough to win but that did come on the all weather, and off a rating of 92 points, 34 point higher than his mark today.

#4 GOOD LUCK BABE is becoming an unreliable conveyance after winning well earlier in the season but needs to be respected from the good draw. He trialled superbly on this surface prior to his last start so we know he's got the ingredients to race well, and potentially even win. The job now becomes Hugh Bowmans for the first time which is another reason to keep him safe.

#8 ACE POWER has shifted stables since his last run at Happy Valley where he was ridden further forward and subsquently failed to finish off. New trainer Mark Newnham recently trialled him on the all weather track and he made a slight impression over the final stages. He's dangerously close to a win and the change of environment might be what he's after.

Race 6

#10 GOR GOR has only been in the stable of new trainer Brett Crawford for 2 months but already he's looking a different conveyance. He was taken to Happy Valley for a 1200m assignment at the end of January and worked to the line with genuine swagger and a late gliding turn of foot. With the blinkers off at Sha Tin most recently he raced more relaxed and despite some early interference pounced on the leaders final strides to win. He should be going close again.

#6 LIVE WIRE appeared well enough prepared on debut but was unable to find the output level required to take out the race when it counted. Zac Purton also completed quite a chunk of the preliminary preparation and remains aboard after enjoying the rise to 1200m last start. Trainer Douglas Whyte completed his final lead up gallop and it's evident he's gaining in strength.

#1 MASTER LUCKY put together a solid overall performance to win on debit and there'll be more winning to come off the back of that effort. He then left the gates well second up, to race handy to the speed, but didn't find the same output when placed under pressure. With natural improvement still to follow he'll appreciate stepping up to 1200m around a bend, and is expected to race close to the lead.

#12 INCREDIBLE MOMENT didn't lead last time out but should be back in search of the top despite the widish draw in gate 10. He has most of these covered for early acceleration and with the rail in the C position he's likely to get things the way he wants. Hard fiinishers are expected to challenge significanly when the whips are carcking but he should nevertheless make a good fist of it out in front.

#2 YEE CHONG GLORY has improved sharply since the cheek pieces were added and should be included in all discussions now he's back in class 4. His last win came in this grade and it's felt he'll appreciated the draw and booking of Hugh Bowman. A few soundness setbacks have held up his progress along the way but he's a runner to treat wearily after winning like a class 3 galloper on debut.
