Harness feature race rankings return
In 2024, Racing WA re-introduced a ranking system for its major Western Australian harness feature races, designed to provide enhanced visibility in the selection process for these blue-ribbon events.
Racing WA Head of Harness Racing and Special Projects Cameron Brown said the rankings system had delivered strong outcomes in 2024.
"We were thrilled with how the rankings system performed in 2024, providing clarity in the lead-up to our feature races," Cam said.
"We're looking forward to seeing that success continue throughout the second half of 2025.
''Harness racing is at its absolute best in spring and summer at Gloucester Park with five Group 1s and plenty of great races in between, starting with the $150,000 TABtouch WA Oaks on 3 October and culminating with the $450,000 TABtouch WA Pacing Cup on 12 December.''
The ranking dates and confirmation of Golden Ticket races for each of these races have today been released as follows:
Group 1 $150,000 TABTouch WA Oaks

The Harness Racing Field Selection Panel will be ranking the top 20 horses for each race that have a Western Australian stable return as of 1 January 2025. Interstate or international runners will be included in the rankings provided that they have advised Racing WA of their intention to nominate.
Trainers should note that the ranking system does not circumvent the regular nomination process, with horses still being required to nominate for the race.
