Leopardstown subject to Friday inspection
The opening day of the Dublin Racing Festival is subject to a 2.30pm inspection on Friday after significant further rainfall overnight.
There was standing water down the back straight of the course on Tuesday with the track described unraceable but thanks to ground staff and the drainage system, the water was removed.
That left a positive outlook heading into the weekend with racing expected to go ahead as planned, however, a further 22mm of rain fall throughout Thursday and with parts of the hurdles course now described as unraceable, the track will have to pass an inspection for racing to get the green light.
A statement on the IHRB X account said: "Possibility of a further 10-20mm (approx) into tomorrow. There will be an inspection at 2.30pm today (Friday)."
