King’s best bets
Sam King is back with two selections on Tuesday.
Joe Tizzard enjoyed Scottish success on the weekend when JPR One struck at Musselburgh, and I suspect he'd be disappointed if he left Carlisle empty-handed this afternoon.
The Somerset-based handler, who has been in excellent form of late with four winners from just thirteen runners in the last fortnight, sends two horses up to Carlisle and both appear to have live chances.
First Confession could easily prove too strong in the beginners' chase but it's stablemate Ilovethenightlife who makes more appeal from a betting perspective in the Racing TV Mares' Handicap Chase (3.05).
The eight-year-old daughter of Walk In The Park has scored just once over fences from eleven attempts, but she has some solid form in the book and this afternoon's task represents a sizeable drop in grade.
A 2lb drop in the ratings for finishing a creditable third behind Panic Attack in Listed company at Newbury last time sees her now eligible for a 0-120 contest for the first time in her career, while it's possible the near three-mile trip stretched her stamina on that occasion.
Her sole chase success to date came off a mark of 124 at Kempton last season and it's certainly no coincidence that her best efforts have come going right-handed. She does show a tendency to jump right-handed, so it's no shock to see connections make the lengthy trip north in order to find a suitable contest and with the drop in trip also expected to suit, Joe Tizzard's mare can show her class here.

Over at Wolverhampton, Betsen can stamp his authority on the Midnite, Building The Future Of Betting Handicap (6.00).
The former Irish-trained sprinter held some high-class form earlier in his career and it's been no surprise that masterful handler Tony Carroll has been able to unlock some of that old spark.
A shock winner of a competitive Class 2 handicap on his stable debut at Southwell recently, Betsen shaped much better than the bare result when attempting to follow-up at Newcastle last time out.
His sluggish beginning combined with that lack of speed on up front really cost him any chance of winning that day, so it was pleasing to see him keep on nicely in the closing
stages to finish a respectable fourth on a track that was never really going to see him to best effect.
Back round a turning six furlongs should see him in better light this evening and with Rossa Ryan booked to do the steering from gate four, he ought to have every chance of regaining the winning thread off an unchanged mark.
