Dublin Racing Festival day one off due to rain
Day one of the Dublin Racing Festival has been abandoned due to track at Leopardstown being deemed unraceable after further rainfall.
Officials assessed the track on Friday afternoon and were hoping that they'd found a new racing line that was fit for racing.
However, further overnight rain fall has left the course unraceable, with Saturday's Grade 1 Irish Gold Cup card now set to move to Monday.
Day two of the Dublin Racing Festival is due to stage another almighty clash between both Lossiemouth and Brighterdaysahead in the Irish Champion Hurdle but there will be an inspection on Sunday morning at 8am to determine whether racing can go ahead tomorrow.
In a post on X, Graffin said: "Unfortunately since yesterday morning, we've had a further 17 millimetres, quite a lot of rain overnight and what appeared to be perfectly fine yesterday is now unraceable.
"There's a further 2mm to 5mm forecast for the rest of the morning, mainly dry thereafter and dry all through tomorrow into Monday evening.
"We will have a look in the morning to see the prospects for racing tomorrow, but we are unfit today and racing has been cancelled."
Sandown's Grade 1 Virgin Bet Scilly Isles Novices' Chase card is set to go ahead having passed a 7.30am inspection.
